Heritage Day Cricket
In summer 2022 The Club Cricket Charity sponsored a day of cricket to celebrate African Caribbean cricket in London , and in particular at Shepherd’s Bush Cricket Club.
Renowned for its innovative experience and welcome to the Windrush generation of West Indian cricketers in the 1950’s, the club has remained the pinnacle of what is now defined as Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
To celebrate this, the Club, led by its President Alf Langley, arranged for a match to be played between The Ace Cricket Xl of London-based cricketers of Afro-Caribbean decent, and the Shepard’s Bush First Xl, nominated as Heritage Day. With a veritable museum of Anglo-West Indian
artifacts and exhibits; a sumptuous Caribbean lunch; and some entertaining cricket the day was a huge success.
The Club Cricket Charity is available to help other charitable and promotional causes in the interest of club cricket nationally.
